Emergency Contact Details
We would like to remind parents that it is imperative for us to be able to contact you, a member of your family or a close friend in the case of an emergency. Kindly visit the Edana App and check the contact details in the fields provided. To ensure that the information is complete and correct, it is vital that the contact numbers are accessible at all times by the College.
This is a very important request, and we are asking you to comply immediately as a safety precaution.
Please select your profile, then "Contact Information" update, and "Emergency Contacts" and update accordingly. Please click on the link for step-by-step guidance.
We would like to extend our special Congratulations to the Secondary Faculty Prefects and Executive Prefects of 2026:
Executive Head Girl - Aisha Salie
Executive Head Boy - Connor Niske
Deputy Head Girl - Naeha Naidu
Deputy Head Boy - Jarryd Hunt
We wish them everything of the best in their leadership roles for their term of office.
We have a short, but busy and exciting quarter ahead. We look forward to the many opportunities for growth and celebration that await our learners in the sporting, cultural, technological and academic spheres. It is also that time of the year where our learners must focus on preparing for their final formal assessments of the year.
We wish to remind parents and learners that regular school attendance is crucial. Consistent attendance ensures that learners don’t miss out on valuable lessons and preparation for their upcoming formal assessments. Please assist us by ensuring your child attends school regularly and punctually.
Formal assessment dates and schedules will be communicated in the next memo to assist with planning.
In the meantime, here are a few tips to get the academic ball rolling to support your child at home:
Set up a quiet, organised study space – ensure your child has a calm, well-lit area free from distractions such as television or phones to revise or complete work.
Set a routine – encourage your child to revise each day in short, focused sessions (about 30 minutes) with short breaks in between.
Review work regularly – go over previously learnt notes and key concepts a little each day.
Stay positive and motivated – praise efforts and remind them that every bit of revision helps build confidence.
The following slides have been developed collaboratively using AI and our ICT Acceptable User and AI policies.
Please use these slides each week as conversation starters with your child on responsible digital citizenship.
College blazers
Please be reminded that all learners need to wear the new striped blazer from the start of 2026. To ensure timely delivery, we advise you to place your order with our uniform supplier, School and Leisure, early.
Second hand school uniforms
Please contact Tania Fourie if you would like to buy or sell good-quality second-hand uniforms. She is also the supplier of Froggy School shoes. Contact details: +27 83 631 7683 or tania@sportstudio.co.za
On the last day of last quarter all of our learners took part in SP on the Run. We all had so much fun clocking up the house points for each lap which included all sorts of obstacles. Thank you to our sports department for a fun last day of the quarter.
As part of our Quarter Four outreach, we are excited to support the Santa Shoebox Project, a wonderful initiative that provides personalised gift boxes to children in need. Each class is responsible for preparing two boxes – one for a girl and one for a boy. Your child's class teacher will be in touch with details about what is needed for these boxes and how you can contribute. Completed boxes are due 5 November 2025.
If you would like to donate an additional box on your own, please reach out to Ms. Magadana at lmagadana@parklands.co.za to pledge a box and receive further details.
Thank you for your generosity!
We have a wonderful tradition of donating books to our library on a learner's birthday. Please contact Ms Magadana (lmagadana@parklands.co.za) should you wish to donate a book on your child's birthday.
Parklands College is planning a Cultural Tour to Paris in September 2026 for our current Grade 5, 6 & 7 learners.
Should you be interested in your child participating in the tour, or require further information, please email Mme A Bailly at abailly@parklands.co.za. A truly memorable cultural experience awaits!

Summer Sports are here!
Welcome to the final quarter of 2025, where our focus shifts from winter competition to the excitement of the summer season. Learners will now swap rugby boots and hockey sticks for tennis racquets, cricket bats, and swimming goggles as we dive into a fresh line-up of sports.
We begin with a strong start as our Cricket Clinic takes place on Monday, 13 October at 12h00 on the Senior Prep fields. This session will sharpen skills in batting, bowling, and fielding, giving our cricketers a solid foundation for the quarter ahead.
This quarter promises an action-packed programme, including:
🏏 Cricket – fast-paced games filled with teamwork, energy, and skill.
🎾 Tennis matches – rallies, serves, and smashes as learners develop their technical ability and match confidence.
⚾ Softball – teamwork, striking, and strategy all rolled into one exciting sport.
🏊 Swimming – stroke development, conditioning, and preparation for the upcoming gala season.
💪 PE sessions – supporting overall fitness, agility, and confidence.
Parents, as always, your support on the sidelines and poolside makes a huge difference. With the summer sun setting the stage, please ensure learners are prepared with sunscreen, hats, and water bottles to keep them safe and performing at their best.
Quarter 4 is short, sharp, and high-energy – a chance for our learners to finish the year strong and with plenty of memorable sporting moments. Let’s make it one to remember!
Just like that, our final derby of the year has come to an end! What a way to close out the season with passion, spirit, and school pride on full display.
Our learners gave it their all:
🏐 Netball – the girls showcased their brilliance on court with skill, determination, and teamwork.
🏉 Rugby – a nail-biting match that had the sidelines buzzing with excitement right to the final whistle.
♟️ Chess – learners enjoyed challenging battles and showed composure under pressure against strong opposition.
A heartfelt thank you to all parents, guardians, staff, and supporters who joined us – your cheers and encouragement were heard and felt throughout the day. You made this derby a memorable one for every learner involved.
What an incredible way to wrap up the year of derbies – North vs South 2025 will certainly be remembered!
Sport begins on Tuesday 14 October (first day back)
If you have missed the sign-up for Quarter 4 co-curriculars, please email Coach Jared jmargetts@parklands.co.za for any Sport queries and Mrs Buckle rbuckle@parklands.co.za for any Culture queries.
On Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 October at 14h45 - 16h00 swimming trials will take place at our SP pool!
This is not to be missed!
All are welcome - please attend at least 1 of the 2 sessions to qualify for Swim Squads Quarter 4 2025!
No exceptions will be made for learners who miss trials unless for exceptional circumstances.
